Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS: Students should have ideally completed the ITALIAN BEGINNER and BEGINNER 2 course (16 weeks) or an equivalent. HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES: Students will be issued with Guidelines on keeping safe in relation to Covid 19 while attending their course. We would ask that these are read prior to attending and adhered to for your benefit and the rest of the course participants. These have been produced in conjunction with Scottish government and CEC guidelines and may be subject to change. OVERVIEW / INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE: This course is designed for people who are passionate about Italy and want to improve their already existing knowledge of Italian for different purposes such as travelling in Italy, enjoy the study of a new language, engaging conversations with Italian people and much more. Students will add more tools to the grammar they have already learned (including the use of the past tense), they will gain more vocabularies, useful expressions and practice more conversations on different scenarios of daily life and in the view of travelling in Italy. They will learn how to report and talk about past events. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: Students will be explained the new grammar and they will be doing interactive activities to practice it. They will take part to conversations (role play) based on different scenarios. They will be given some tasks to complete to practice what they are learning. They will be doing listening activities for the comprehension and to improve the pronunciation. Videos will be showed to continue exploring Italy and its culture, as well as other topics of conversations. The classes will be focussed on speaking. WHAT STUDENTS CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course, students will have boosted their use of grammar for the level they are in; they will have extended their conversations to different topics; they will feel more confident in asking questions and looking for useful information using this language more spontaneously. Above all students will learn more about Italy and Italian ways. Students will feel inspired to learn more and enjoy talking with other students in Italian. The course it will be a progressing point for students who have already more strong basics of the language and want to further progress to a higher level. RESOURCES REQUIRED BY STUDENTS / ADDITIONAL COSTS: Pens, notebooks, a textbook might be recommended later. Please note there is limited on-street parking only at this venue.
