Activity description

NB: This course will now start on Wednesday 5th October. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS: None. HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES: A health questionnaire will be emailed to enrolled students and must be returned prior to the course start date. Students will be issued with Guidelines on keeping safe in relation to Covid 19 while attending their course. We would ask that these are read prior to attending and adhered to for your benefit and the rest of the course participants. These have been produced in conjunction with Scottish government and CEC guidelines and may be subject to change. Note from Tutor: Students are responsible for their own health & safety upon entering and leaving the premises and during the class. They are responsible for ensuring, if appropriate or required – to consult a medical practitioner prior to attending a fitness class. They are also required to treat everyone within the class with respect. OVERVIEW / INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE: Seasonal Yoga is a combination of Yoga (Hatha) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). My classes focus on working into the seasonal organs, muscles and meridian lines (energy lines that run throughout the body). By practicing the right postures in the current season, we aim to increase the energy throughout the body which can improve your health – physically, emotionally and spiritually – increase vitality and can improve our emotional state. Classes are a combination of postures, breathwork, meditation and specific Qigong movements. Attendees are encouraged to make the postures fit their bodies – not the other way around, this ensures the classes are suitable for all levels. Seasonal Yoga is a journey throughout the seasons. WHAT STUDENTS CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: Postures that will improve strength, flexibility, co-ordination and stamina. Breathwork and meditation skills - which can help lower high blood pressure, stress and anxiety. Breathwork and meditation are very good for focusing the mind, replacing negative thought processes with positive thought processes. It is also an opportunity for like-minded people to meet, spend time together and perhaps develop new friendships. STUDENTS / ADDITIONAL COSTS: A Yoga mat/brick/block and belt – all can be bought from most supermarkets, sport shops or Amazon.”
