Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS: Students should have completed a Beginners course or have an equivalent knowledge of the language. HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES: Students will be issued with Guidelines on keeping safe in relation to Covid 19 while attending their course. We would ask that these are read prior to attending and adhered to for your benefit and the rest of the course participants. OVERVIEW / INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE: The course aims to further develop students’ knowledge of Spanish and confidence in communicating by introducing more complex grammar and vocabulary in a variety of situations. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: The lessons will involve explanations of the Spanish language and exercises focusing on speaking and listening but also involving some reading and writing. The language taught will be useful for communicating in real life situations. Students will practice through whole class activities, role play and working in pairs or small groups. Grammar will be introduced in context. At the end of the class some written and/or reading exercises will be set as homework. WHAT STUDENTS CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will be able to communicate at a basic level about their likes and dislikes, daily routines, and what they expect to do in the future and what they have done in the past. RESOURCES REQUIRED BY STUDENTS / ADDITIONAL COSTS: Students will be expected to buy a course textbook. The tutor will provide details at the start of the course. They should also bring a notebook and pen and a small dictionary might be useful.
