Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: This course is suitable for beginners to intermediate level students. All levels welcome. This course aims to give beginners a good grounding in watercolour techniques, and increase confidence and expressivity in all students. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course, students will have: - a basic grounding in the essential watercolour techniques; - worked from still life, photographs and other subjects of their choice; - learned to explore their ideas, and express themselves more freely; - a knowledge of some other watercolour related techniques and effects; and - learned basic rules for perspective drawing. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: The course will include demonstrations, group exercises and individual tuition. Visits etc could be negotiated. MATERIALS TO BE PROVIDED BY STUDENT/ADDITIONAL COSTS: It is useful to take a notebook and pen/pencil with you to the first session of the course. For following sessions, students should bring: student or Artist Watercolour - 5mm tubes preferred; 1-3 no. brushes; Proarte No 6-10 + 1/2' flat; Langton or Bockingford watercolur paper - 300 grms - min size 12' x 9'. However, students are advised to wait until the first session of the course before purchasing any expensive items of equipment or materials. Discount can be obtained from certain suppliers on production of course receipt.
