Activity description

NB: This course was advertised in the printed brochure as a 10 week course. It will now be a 5 week course. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements. All levels welcome. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to: - explain the four different artistic styles studied in their social, political and moral context; - identify elements of contrasting styles and approaches, as well as the aims of different schools in the four periods studied; and - discuss the ways in which one art form may influence another. GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE: Powerpoint lectures with occasional film clips and music. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: None.
