Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements. Although all levels are welcome, this class is highly recommended for those who are beginners or not confident with basic drawing techniques and theories. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to: - understand fundamentals of sketching and drawing; - understand measuring; - understand and depicting 3 dimensional space ; - make artwork based on photographs; - depicting shading and tones in their artwork to enhance their sketching skills; - handle drawing media with confidence; - develop an understanding of aspects of tone, contrast, colour and composition; and - understand how best to express and interpret the chosen subject using media like acrylic, watercolour, mixed media, collage and drawing techniques. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: Talks, printouts, conversations and demonstrations will be used followed by individual tutoring and guidance. Hopefully we could plan outings which would enhance the learning experience for example to access architecture, landscape, people and nature. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: First class please bring your favourite material that you have the most experience with. Absolute beginners need some soft pencils (between 4-9 B) Students may wish to wait until the class commences to purchase some special papers and brushes for techniques such as watercolour, charcoal and pastel and also to confirm viability of class. Also discount can be obtained from certain suppliers on production of class receipt.
