Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: For those at Intermediate level or advanced level. Experience in basic drawing skills is essential as well as a knowledge of basic art materials. This class caters to those who want to seriously enhance their portfolio for applications to Art Schools or college courses but can also cater to those who want to simply have fun and learn more experimental techniques. . LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course students: - Will have explored a range of drawing techniques - Will have developed an understanding of basic, inexpensive experimental print-making techniques - Will have a greater understanding of ways to enhance University portfolio applications - Will have produced a variety of experimental works - Will have become familiar with a selection of modern and contemporary artists HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: • Practical course with demonstration of techniques by tutor accompanied by physical examples of outcomes. • 1-to-1 guidance will be provided as well as peer evaluation at the end of each lesson. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: - A sketch book (£3) - Variety of coloured and textural papers( £3) - Variety of dry drawing materials- oil pastels, pencils, pens, charcoal(£5-10) - Scissors(£2) - Source material to draw from ( photos, print outs, objects that are of interest to you) - Acrylic paint set (£10) - Paint brush set (£8) - A black oil bar (£3) Students are advised to wait until the course commences to get information/advice from tutor before purchasing costly materials and also to confirm viability of the course.
