Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: One Day Drawing & Painting Course - The focus will be on Still Life. Students will learn the basics of still life painting, composition, colour harmony, tonal values and an appreciation of acrylic paint. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: The tutor will begin by showing examples of still life and give a small talk about the tradition of still life. The tutor will bring the still life objects. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS: Students will be required to bring acrylic paints. They will also need brushes, an HB pencil, a palette knife and a mixing palette. Students will also need to bring either a canvas or acrylic board or paper no larger than A3 size. Good quality watercolour paper will can be used, provided it is at least 300gsm or 1401b in weight.
