Activity description

Current GYC Service/Projects • Youth work provision – evening youth clubs Mondays 5-7pm (S1) , Wednesday 6-8pm (S4+) and Fridays 6-8pm (S2 + S3). At RWCC. Swimming on a Friday 2-4pm at Ainslie park. • Counselling service – qualified counsellor(s) providing emotional support to young people aged 11-25 . Individual appointments throughout the week. • GoLone – a service to provide practical, social and emotional support to young parents. Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. • School Support Service – 5 days per week; youth work presence in Broughton High School providing 1-2-1 support and once per week at Granton Primary to help with the transition from P7 – S1. • Young Start – using IT skills to engage marginalised or excluded young people to engage in youth work and support their development, confidence and skills. Will start in the new year 2019. • Get Going with GYC – sports, swimming, outwards bounds, football – a variety of taster sessions at clubs with group activities on Fridays to help support and engage young people who would not normally be able to participate in such pursuits. On Friday’s 12-5pm. • Volunteering – developing the skills of young people and volunteers through a structured and supported training programme alongside work placements; helping develop skills, confidence and employability. • Streetwork – outreach youth work, on the street, to meet and talk to young people and divert them away from risk-taking behaviour. Will start up properly in the new year. Aiming to go out 3 times a week. Friday nights being a priority. Normal times between 6-9pm in Granton, Royston, Pilton, Muirhous and Drylaw. Summer and holiday provision. Activities during the day and night time. Often we offer small group or large community activities.
