Activity description

Class will run from 9.30am until 4.00pm with a half hour lunch break. Students should bring a packed lunch and drink if required. This course aims to teach students the basic techniques and skills needed to make delicious handmade sweets. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: None. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course, students will have learned: - how to prepare a selection of handmade chocolates; - how to temper chocolate, make ganache and a variety of techniques to finish pralines; - some knowledge of what is invlolves in chocolate making. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: This one day course will include demonstrations by the tutor and student participation. Students will prepare and make each item following a demo from the tutor. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE COSTS: £10.00 A flat cost payable on the day will cover all ingredients and use of specialist equipment which the Tutor will supply. Students will be required to bring their own tins/Tupperware to take items home. Please note that equipment such as ovens/microwaves may need to be shared, and that clean up time is an intrinsic part of your course.
