Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Open to all levels WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to: Use a sewing machine confidently or improve current skills Understand how to use a dressmaking pattern and find the correct size Take accurate body measurements and adjust patterns to fit Make an item of clothing appropriate to your skills level HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: This is an informal class where general guidance will be given to students to work on their own project. Those students new to dressmaking will be taught how to use a sewing machine safely before starting on their first project. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: Students should bring their own sewing kit - small scissors, tape measure, needles, pins, etc Students should purchase their own dressmaking pattern and fabric for their project. New students will be advised by the tutor about which patterns to purchase and fabric choices.
