Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No experience necessary. The aim of this course is to introduce tips and techniques to help relax the body, which will in turn reduce stress, improve sleep and calm a busy mind. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to: - what mindfulness and meditation is and how it works; - use the tools and knowledge to introduce practice into daily life; and - stay calm in otherwise stressful situations. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: The tutor will talk students through all of the exercises and there will be time for feedback, practise and questions and answers. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: Paper and pen for taking notes (Optional). Bring drinking water with you as meditation can have a detoxing effect. As the exercises are done sitting in a chair, it is important that your feet touch the ground. Some people find it useful to bring a cushion for your feet. You are encouraged to take your shoes off so you might want to wear/bring socks.
