Activity description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: None. This course is designed for complete beginners and those with a little previous knowledge. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to: - choose a pattern and appropriate material, and how to make it up; - lay out and cut a pattern properly and economically; - fit to suit an individual; and - sew and finish the garment. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: Very much a hands-on approach. A mixture of whole class tuition and individual attention. The course is friendly and informal. No-one will make a mistake that someone else has not made before (including the tutor). MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROX/ADDITIONAL COSTS: For the first session students should bring along notepaper and pen/pencil. Thereafter students will be required to provide their own materials and equipment however, we would suggest that unless students already have equipment/materials that they wait until the first session of course before purchasing expensive materials/ equipment/text books etc. Please note: Students may have to share resources such as sewing machines and equipment. You are however welcome to bring your own sewing machine with you to use each week.
