Activity description

NB: The weekly meeting point for this course will be the Elk/Deer skeleton which stands in the Grand Hall, directly in front of the entrance to the east wing of the museum and the Natural World Galleries. The aim of this course is to explore the museum collections and updated displays. . ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: None. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will be more familiar with the new layout of the museum and the various galleries, and have a new appreciation of the different collections and exhibits from Chinese porcelain to natural history. GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE: Informal tutor led tours and discussions about the range of exhibits on display. The students will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the whole building and its amazing contents. The museum is the largest of its kind outside London. Handouts will be supplied where appropriate. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS: Cost of coffee/tea if wished.
