Activity description

A five week course covering basic bike maintenance and set-up. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: A bicycle - and an interest in keeping it in roadworthy condition. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will be able to: - take out a rear wheel and fix a puncture; - identify worn brake pads and change them; - identify a worn chain and replace it; - index derailleur gears; and - maintain bearings. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: The course will be taught by example, demonstration and hands on practical work. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: All tools to be used will be supplied by the tutor, but bring your bicycle. NB: There is very limited parking available at this venue, particularly when school events are taking place.
