Activity description

This course is for beginners and more confident artists to learn or enhance their techniques and skills using a multimedia approach to figure and portrait drawing. Please note, this course uses draped/clothed models. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: None, only a keen interest in portrait and figure drawing. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will have learned - an introduction to the fundamental bases of figure and portrait drawing; - portrait and figure drawing/painting in colour techniques; - key observational skills, exploration of colour practices; - proportions and body structure, line/contours, tone and shade. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: One-to-one tuition, handouts and short group demonstrations. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROX/ADDITIONAL COSTS: For the first session, bring along basics, eg paper or sketchbook, pencil and/or pastels. Other materials and media can be added later on. Students should wait until the course commences to get information/advice from the tutor before purchasing costly materials and also to confirm viability of the course. Discount can be obtained from certain suppliers on production of course receipt. NB: There is very limited parking available at this venue, particularly when school events are taking place.
