Activity description

This course aims to give students the confidence to attack a wide range of subjects using line, tone and mark, working on a variety of quick and more sustained drawing techniques. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS No formal entry requirements. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: By the end of the course students will be able to: - produce drawings unique to them using a variety of materials; - work loose, tight, big, small, fast, slow, carefully and carelessly; and - work in line or without line, with or without a rubber. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: The majority of exercises will be based on still-life sets in the studio. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS; ADDITIONAL COSTS: Students will be required by provide their own materials and should take some 'basic' art materials to the first session of the class, eg, paper, drawing pencil and/or paints. Students should wait until the course commences to get information/advice from the tutor before purchasing expensive materials, and to confirm the viability of the course. Thereafter, Pencils 2B, 4B, 6B & 8B; hard-edged rubber (plastic) and putty rubber; Willow charcoal; Ink; and A2/A3 drawing pad.
