Activity description

A general drawing and painting class where we will use a variety of themes and subjects to explore drawing and painting. Students will be introduced to the basics of line, tone, mark making colour and composition. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: It would be helpful to have done a beginner’s course or the equivalent. LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to: - worked with a wide variety of materials - understand and put into practise tonal range understand and put into practice a variety of mark making , understand and put into practice composition and perspective have experienced use of line and colour produced several completed paintings and drawings HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: This course is all about encouragement and building confidence while developing one's own unique style. This support will also extend to constant guidance on subject matter, suitable media and technique. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: A3 & 4 cartridge paper Sticks of Charcoal Pencils: 2B, 4B, 6B Watercolour and Acrylic Paints Brushes: small, medium and large wash brush Chalk and oil Pastels Fixative – hairspray can be used as cheap option
