Activity description
NB: The first session of this course will be in Dunbar. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: No formal entry requirements. All levels welcome. LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course students will have learned/be able to: - knowledge of the range of different rocks found in East Lothian. - understand of the story of how these rocks formed, by different processes. - appreciate how this diversity in the bedrock has resulted in a varied landscape. HOW THE COURSE WILL BE TAUGHT: This course will comprise one classroom session and four informal, short walks in different areas of East Lothian where we will get a chance to see different rock types and landscapes and see how these have influenced people. Each walk will be at a slow pace, on beaches and paths which may be rough in places, and accessible by public transport. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENT; APPROXIMATE & ADDITIONAL COSTS: Good walking shoes and warm waterproof clothing.
