Wednesdays - 6.00pm - 7.00pm starting 28th October 2020

1 hour a week for 5 weeks.

Level of course and entry requirements

Participants must be available to attend every session of this course.

No formal entry requirements.  Suitable for beginners.  Students should have an interest in Design and Drawing.  

Overview / introduction to the course

Students will gain insight into interior design, it’s principles and meet like-minded people. We will cover topics like mood boards, colour and pattern for interior, space planning, lighting etc.  

How the course will be taught

Online via Teams, one hour per week. There will be presentation every week on different topics followed by time for discussion and questions.  

What students can expect to learn

  • Define their interior design style; 
  • Learn to do room plans and sections; 
  • Confidently use colour and pattern in interiors; 
  • Introduction to a range of materials and finishes; and
  • Use lighting to create different atmospheres in interiors. 

Resources required by students and additional costs

Notebook/Sketchbook, additional items like magazines, colouring pencils, fabric samples, paint swatches etc. are discussed on the course but not mandatory. 

What students could do next

Think about a room that would like to re-design. This can be a room in their house or a room of a family member or a friend.
